Eileen Bertelli joined Parson Weems in December, 2010 and became co-owner in January, 2014. She started in publishing as a freelance reader and went on to positions in editorial, sales, marketing with various publishers including Bantam Doubleday Dell, now Random House, Kensington, Penguin, Barron’s Educational, and Ziccardi Books. She has also worked in bookstores, worked with agents, sold textbooks, and started a small press with her husband. Eileen lives in Warwick, NY.
Christopher Kerr: Key National Accounts, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire
A former news photographer and magazine editor, Chris began his book publishing career in 1975 and served in a number of sales & marketing positions with Oxford University Press, HBJ, Blackwell, Houghton Mifflin, Little, Brown/Time Warner and Walden Books before launching Parson Weems in 1997 with Colwyn Krussman.
Jason Kincade: Key National Accounts, New York City Metro, Hudson Valley, Philadelphia Metro, Washington, DC Metro
Jason joined Parson Weems in November of 2015. He started his career as a bookseller and book buyer for Tower Books and Tower Records and later at Alexander Book Company in California and returned to Tower as a book buyer upon moving to NYC in 1995. He went on to spend almost a decade at Penguin Books where he was on the forefront of online marketing and web development before holding positions at Knopf and Random House International Sales working on both traditional, online, and social media marketing. He has also worked as a marketing and publicity consultant as a freelancer, at a major New York literary agency, and at a startup online music retailer. He lives in Brooklyn.
Causten Stehle: Manager
Causten joined Parson Weems with a wide variety of experiences both in publishing and in the corporate world of pharmaceutical marketing. In 1987, he began working at Routledge, Chapman and Hall in New York and over the course of nine years worked in the capacities of Sales Associate, Exhibits Manager and College Marketing Manager. He joined the team in 2005, after receiving his Masters of Science degree in Information Systems from Pace University.
Ryan O'Connor: Special Projects Manager & Admin Support
Born in Nyack and raised in Piermont, NY, Ryan studied at The State University of New York, New Paltz; Columbia College Chicago, and, finally, Hunter College, New York City, where he received a BA in Religious Studies. An avid and eclectic reader, he cites a few books that stand out: Confessions by St. Augustine, Blood Meridian by Cormac McCarthy; and Slouching Towards Bethlehem by Joan Didion. He has worked as a carpenter’s assistant, and early in the pandemic quarantine, as a stock clerk for a local grocery store chain. His enthusiasm and literary skills will be an asset to the team.
